A lot has been accomplished in the last couple of years introducing Pickleball to The Lakes. For this we must thank our Sports Director Marcin Rozpedski and member Bob O'Brien.

Pickleball is played on a smaller version of a tennis court, with an over-sized paddle and a plastic ball similar to a wiffie ball. It is fast, addictive, and fun, and can be played by people of all ages and athletic abilities. There are nine pickleba]] courts at The Lakes, and there is drop-in open play for all abilities from Monday to Saturday, starting at 8-9 am, depending on the outside temperature. Guest fees (for non-Lakes members) are $10 a person. Group lessons are available on Monday mornings, for both beginners and experienced players, and those interested in lessons should contact the Tennis Shop to register.

There is a Member-Organized Pickleball Club at The Lakes, with over 120 active players. The Goals and Objectives of The Lakes Pickleball Club (LPBC) are:
To maintain a link to The Lakes website to provide information for pickleball members.
To send out periodic pickleball newsletters, which include information about upcoming activities & events in the valley.
To provide a variety of times to play pickleball, both morning and afternoon, depending on the time of year.
To have a limited number of tournaments inside the club, as wen as team activities with other clubs.
To have social events for club members such as a regularly occurring open play day, followed by a social hour and also a season ending party.
If you are interested in being part of The Lakes Pickleball Club or have any questions, please contact one of the committee members: Bob Hayes, Bob O'Brien, Linnea Perrine, Tom Adamitis, Linda McCracken, Ron Merrill and Katie Feeney  If you have friends that haven't signed up yet, encourage them to join, so they can receive our newsletters.
