GOLF COURSE RULES

Printable Rules

Our Golf Committee and Management would like to remind all Golf Members of some of the more significant rules governing golf play and our ForeTees program.
  1. ForeTees. Tee times for golf Members may be scheduled seven (7) days in advance. A maximum of three (3) tee times per day may be reserved by a golf member. Only names of the golf members that expect to play at the scheduled time should be used on ForeTees.

  2. Registration. All Members, guests and tenants are required to register for play at the Golf Pro Shop or Starter House prior to going on the course.  They are required to observe any special instructions given by the Head Golf Professional or the Assistants.  ForeTees and the Golf Starter’s Tee Sheets should always reflect the exact names of the members teeing off on each one of the nine-hole courses during each day.  Groups of golf members playing together must make sure that ForeTees and the Starter’s tee sheets reflect the specific names of members teeing off at each tee time that has been reserved for the respective group.

  3. Play Time. Every golf Member should strive to play within a time that is 4 hours and 15 minutes or less.  The Golf Course Ranger is responsible to ensure this policy.  All players are expected to be on the first tee and ready to play at their assigned starting time.  If not ready, such players may be rescheduled at the discretion of the Starter to play at the first available time.

  4. Refreshments. Players stopping for refreshments, etc. must do so without undue delay so as to keep the pace.

  5. Tee Times.Tee times for guests playing before 11:00 a.m. may be made on ForeTees or with the Starter after 7:30 a.m. five (5) days in advance.  Tee times for guests playing after 11:00 a.m. may be made on ForeTees or with the Starter after 7:30 a.m. seven (7) days in advance.

  6. Divots. For the pleasure of every golfer, the course should be kept in excellent condition.  Please fill in divots to slightly over the soil level with the soil mixture provided.  Ball marks on the green must be repaired.

  7. Bunkers. All golf Members are encouraged to rake the bunkers after each shot and above all, to tap their shoes to remove sand before tracking the sand onto the greens.

  8. Retrieving Balls. Searching or fishing for golf balls in the lakes is prohibited, except when during play a player may retrieve his or her own ball.  Rake type ball retrievers are prohibited (a rake type retriever is one which is wider than 4 inches).  Golf play is not to be delayed by golf ball retrieval.

  9. Clubs & Carts. Each player must have a set of clubs and ride in an approved and registered golf cart that displays their registration and cart number on both sides of their cart.

  10. Golf Shoes. Metal spike golf shoes are not permitted.

  11. Dress Code. Appropriate golf attire shall be worn at all times by players; including children, non-playing riders and spectators. Golf attire shall be consistent with the golf attire offered for sale in The Lakes' Golf Shop; i.e. golf skirts, golf shorts & golf skorts of length no less than 17-1/2 inches. Cargo pants, cargo shorts, tee shirts, Tommy Bahama-style shirts, tank tops, jeans, denim or flip-flops are not allowed.
